Strange or Cute?
Hokkaido has started an advertising campaign based on its local attractions.
There is a mascot named "Kyun-chan", and you can see some posters with it at stations in Hokkaido.
It wears a cap which shapes a special product or landmark.
My hometown's version is a squid cap.

A mantis
I found a mantis in my backyard this afternoon.
Usually I can see some insects on a fine morning after rain.
I felt very scared to get close to it for taking photos because I'm not a tomboy.ヽ(;´ω｀)ノ
It was very fierce.
When I poked at the mantis with a small leaf it waved its hands over its head.
Finally I could take a good shot.

あけましておめでとうございます。
皆様にとって2010年が幸せな年でありますようお祈りしております。
今年は、更なる勉学に努めボランティア活動に生かしていきたいと思っております。

My best wishes to you for a happy and healthy new year!
One of my new year's resolutions is to make progress in my study of English.
I want to understand science articles and documentary TV programs like from the Discovery channel or National geographic channel.
And I'll apply my learning to practical interpretation.
I think there're several hurdles to cross before we reach my goal but I'll try it.
What are yours?
